Ian and Laura Wed

It's been a LONG while since my last post here, yet and still the Eastenders episodes that our east coast satellites are receiving these days are STILL like 4 years behind current episodes in the UK!

Obviously, I still very much enjoy them nevertheless!

How behind are we? Well, after yet another near wedding day disaster (typical for an Eastender), Ian has convinced his former nanny, Laura, to marry him.

Barry, after successfully knocking up his wife Nat, has found himself, yet again, coming back groveling to his dad Roy and Pat, so he and Nat have a place to stay--despite Barry's enormous ego.

They were recently evicted from the pub since Peggy has just accepted an offer to sell the Queen Vic.

Robbie, Sonia, Jamie and the Slaters are off to Brighton on holiday. Robbies also trying to find is biological dad and he's come quiet close. Gee...wonder what happens next Saturday?

Stay tuned!

See Ya Doc

So it looks like Dr. Fred Fonseca has made his exit from the Eastend to move on to greener pasteurs. Fortunately, actor, Jimi Mistry is no soap has been. He's making quite a mark for himself on the US big screen.

In 2002, he was in that great campy Bollywood flick, The Guru with Marisa Tomei. This year he's in Touch of Pink, out in US theaters now. Looks like his schick is romantic comedies (both straight and gay), which seem to do quite well in the theaters and in reviews.

He left Eastenders around 2000 and has accrued and impressive filmography.

Any word on what Grant Mitchell (Ross Kemp) is up to these days?

Lame-Ass Ian Does It Again

As you can image, this week's (7/17/04) Eastenders episode was melodrama-intensive. All the locals are held-up at the Queen Vic and are ordered not to leave on account of their being a gas leak and an a suspect WWII bomb that hasn't been detonated (happens every day)!
Frank and Peggy are back from vacation and come home to general chaos, bar fight and mis-management of their bar.

But I must say the most dispicable character of the week is Ian Beale for his lame-ass display of falsely accusing Melany (she left him at the alter) of carrying on an affair with Steve Owne to cover his bruised ego. But it was quite gratifying to see him shown up when it comes out that he tried to guilt Mel into marrying him by having her believe that his little girl, Lucy's test results were positive for cancer! Pretty low.

The Queen Vic Matron

Peggy's brilliant because she's like a big ole dragqueen! And provides the biggest melodrama out of all the characters. This dame's a hoot! And a sex pistol...arrrgh! I kid you, she don't do it for me.

Eastender's Welcome

Welcome Eastenders Fans!

I hope our Eastenders community will be full of merriment and cheer!

The official Eastenders site is chuck full of character info, episode updates (current ones running on BBC of course), games, trivia and Eastenders keepsakes.

The local (NYC) broadcasts are on WLIW. If you're in the tri-state area, you can go there for any updates on schedule changes. That usually happens when it's telethon season. It's havic for the VCR, and effortless for TIVO to keep up with.

I'm hoping to put up weekly posts and the occassional blurb about web site updates or cast member tid-bits.

Got any ideas for added features you want to see posted? Let me know by posting your own comments.
